Rochester synagogue earns national honor for Muslim-Jewish group

5/31/13

B’nai Israel Synagogue of Rochester has earned national recognition for its role in forming and hosting a Muslim and Jewish women’s dialogue group. The Rochester synagogue was one of 14 congregations nationwide to be awarded the Irving J. Fain Social Action Award by the Commission on Social Action of Reform Judaism. The awards were presented at the Consultation on Conscience conference which, this year, was held April 21-23 in Washington, D.C.
